Matsuyama Mirror

Once upon a time, in Matsuyama there lived a family. One day, the man brought his wife a gift. “It is a mirror. Look and tell me what you see.” “I see a pretty woman looking at me!", she said. Amused, he said, "That's you, silly!" Years passed on, and the mother fell sick.

She called her only daughter and said, “Look into the mirror and there you will see me." When she died, the daughter would look into the mirror and talk to her mother every day, not knowing that the reflection was her own, much like her mother’s.
