In this edition, our muse is Ritu Beri. With many firsts to her credit, Beri has shaped Indian fashion, from redefining the direction of a French fashion house to founding a not-for-profit organisation to advising the government and endorsing culture and tourism. Her many contributions to design have even been feted with a dedicated postal stamp.

Tell us about your journey.

My journey has been an exhilarating, enriching adventure, guided by instinct. I've consistently followed my heart without hesitation. From obtaining a degree from NIFT (as part of its first batch) to establishing a label showcased in multi-brand stores and exclusive bespoke venues globally, my path has taught me the importance of following my passions with fervour.

What do you enjoy the most about your craft?

I do believe that if you're creative, the world is your oyster. I feel the mood, the moment and do what I want to do. I'm a very proud Indian and I love that in India, there is creativity all around. From beautiful colours and textures to craftsmanship, there is so much inspiration.

How has your journey renewed your connection with yourself?

I've learned valuable lessons beyond design. It's been a transformative journey, personally and professionally. I've gained insight into how to nurture both my soul and my craft, discerning what actions are essential and what to avoid.

I admire ZOYA not only for its stunning designs but also for the deep inspirations that drive its collections, celebrating women beyond just physical beauty. I love mixing and matching my jewellery. I've combined an art nouveau choker from ZOYA's 'Libera' collection with exquisite pieces from ZOYA's 'Her Becoming' collection.Drawing inspiration from the geometric patterns of ikat and featuring custom-cut diamonds on a signature silhouette, it presents a truly memorable and unique design aesthetic.
