In this edition, our muse is Sarita Handa, whose eponymous home-decor brand enriches homes across the world with products inspired by India's rich cultural heritage while simultaneously helping keep these traditions alive in modern contexts, providing women with long-term employment and supporting the education of underprivileged children.

Tell us about your journey.

My journey has always been about building lives, not just businesses, and it all starts from within. As an army wife, travelling across India opened my eyes to the country's rich artisanal culture and heritage. While many designers were drawing inspiration from abroad, I found myself captivated by the beauty of indigenous textiles. It took courage, creativity and passion to follow my heart— and looking back, I wouldn't have it any other way.

What do you enjoy the most about your craft?

I've come to realise just how empowering it is to achieve something you truly set your heart on. What brings me even more joy is being able to extend that experience to other women-seeing them grow stronger and more confident through the opportunities we create together.

How has your journey renewed your connection with yourself?

It has shown me that who we are is shaped by creativity, inspiration and the discipline to keep evolving. After three decades, I've come to realise that my path isn't about reaching a destination —it's about constant growth and the impact we leave behind.Beyond crafting beautiful pieces, my work is about building connections, weaving stories and blending the past with the present, both for others and for myself. It's a deeply personal and ever-evolving experience.
